šŸļø How To Track Travel Deals During Black Friday / Travel Tuesday

PLUS: A CLEAR Perk For Pro Members

šŸ‘‹ Welcome Back!

If youā€™re new to Points Paradise, welcome to the community! Otherwise: welcome back to your go-to source for points updates. Our community is up to 15,500 subscribers now!

Do you feel like Black Friday is turning into at least two weeks of great deals?

Before it was just Black Friday. Now companies email about Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday. And they start the week before Thanksgiving!

Iā€™m already seeing some great travel deals, and Iā€™m sure a ton more will come out over the next two weeks.

As always: Iā€™ll be posting them weekly here and on Points Pal, as well as daily on Points Pal!

Make sure you read until the bottom of this email! A brand new promo just came out yesterday for $75 in Uber credit that comes with CLEAR membership tied to some credit card perks.

CLEAR & Uber had a similar partnership offer last month but it closed in a matter of days. I donā€™t want you all to miss this one. If you havenā€™t signed up for CLEAR yet, this is a no brainer.

I love my CLEAR membership and HATE when I have to go to smaller airports who donā€™t have kiosks for it šŸ˜….

So make sure you scroll until the end of this post!

šŸ—žļø News From This Week

Did you know your next trip to the gym could actually earn you valuable travel points?

Full Details: Spend a total of $100 between 11/14/23 ā€“ 1/15/24 on your utilities, internet, cable, and phone services, insurance, local transit and commuting, or fitness club and gym membership payments to earn a $15 statement credit.

Why This Matters:

Offers are one of my favorite ways to build up cash/points towards a new trip.

You already pay the credit card company through annual fees, so why not take advantage of the offers they give you?

A $15 credit might not seem like a lot, but thereā€™s hundreds of good offers a year across the cards I have.

And just 10 times of getting a $15 credit = $150 = a free flight.

The challenging part is staying up to date on offers. But thatā€™s why I built Points Pal. It keeps you up to date without the hassle of doing all the tedious research. All the info right in your inbox personalized for you!

Also remember: the card companies donā€™t auto enroll you in these, so you need to manually enroll. But donā€™t worry, itā€™s not hard as long as you know the details.

This one is super easy and doesnā€™t even make you login.

Hereā€™s the steps:

  • Go to this Chase link

  • Enter the information above

  • Itā€™ll tell you if youā€™re enrolled. If you are: enjoy your $15 statement credit just by going to the gym, paying a phone bill, etc!

Black Friday and Travel Tuesday Are Almost Here. Hereā€™s How To Rack Up Points

This is one of my favorite times of the year to find good deals and points offers.

In the past couple years, travel and credit card companies have ramped up their deals during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

In fact: now thereā€™s a day just for travel deals: Travel Tuesday!

The hard part is staying aware of the best ones, as companies across the board send out a ridiculous number of emails during the next couple weeks.

Thereā€™s already a good amount of deals being announced and weā€™re still a week out from Black Friday:

Frontier Airlines: As part of a Black Friday special, Frontier is offering an annual flight pass valid from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025.

Seaborn Cruises: Seabourn is offering discounts on select cruises through summer 2024, including a two-category cabin upgrade and up to $2,000 onboard credit for bookings made by Nov. 27.

Norwegian Cruises: Their Black Friday sale allows passengers to receive 50% off all cruise fares on all ships, including the new Norwegian Viva, when they book a sailing by early December.

I have a special post on Tuesday coming out about tracking the best bonuses, so stay tuned for that!

A lot of you have been asking for a good welcome bonus for a no-annual fee card.

Well a new one finally came: The 20k/$200 bonus from the Citi Double Cash Card is back!

For just $1500 in spend in 5 months, you get 20k CITI points which can be used for travel or $200 cash-back.

šŸ‘‰ Pro Tip: Citi Points transfer to Turkish Airways miles, which then transfer to United. If youā€™re looking to book travel with your new points, try out that route. You can get some awesome cheap united flights using this.

How Smart Travelers Use Corporate Codes To Save Big

What Are Corporate Codes?

Corporate codes are special discounts given by hotels to businesses for their employees. When entered during a booking, these codes can significantly reduce room rates and sometimes include additional perks.

Note: Most hotels DO check your badge or id, to confirm that you work for the company. While most donā€™t care if youā€™re on personal or business travel, the majority will confirm youā€™re an employee through your badge. If you donā€™t have a badge, theyā€™ll charge you the normal rate.

How Do They Work?

While making a reservation, you input the code in a specified field, and the system applies the discount. Please note that these codes are generally meant for the employees of the affiliated company, and hotels might ask for proof of employment.

An Example:

Imagine you work for IBM and plan to stay at a Marriott hotel in New York for a conference. IBM's corporate code with Marriott could provide you with a 20% discount on the standard rate, or offer extras like free breakfast.

Conclusion:

Corporate codes offer significant savings on hotel stays. Use them responsibly and within their terms of usage. Happy, budget-friendly travels!
