Pro Tip of the Week

New Update From Priority Pass Gets You Even More Lounge Access

If you have one of the major rewards credit cards (the list is long but includes Chase Reserve, Capital One Venture X, The Platinum Card from Amex, and more) then you already have Priority Pass Lounge Access for free.

Over 60 Plaza Premium lounges are joining the Priority Pass program in June.

The Priority Pass Club membership provides access to over 1,300 tranquil and connected airport lounges in 600 cities and 148 countries, offering pre-flight bites, drinks, free Wi-Fi, and charging facilities, along with services like in-airport dining and spa.

Reward Reminder of the Week

What Credit Levels Are Needed For Rewards Cards?

If you’re new to the rewards world or just looking for a refresher, high credit levels are typically required by Credit Card companies like Chase, Amex, and others for their top rewards card.

Most data online shows that people with scores in the 690-850 range (good to excellent) are likely to be accepted into top cards like Amex Platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and others.

If you find your credit score isn't quite up to these levels, don't despair. There are plenty of options available to build your credit. A common method is by using a secured credit card. These cards require a deposit that serves as your credit limit. While they may not offer the same rewards as premium cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, they can be a valuable tool for increasing your credit score over time.

For those with no credit history, you might consider a credit-builder loan or a co-signed credit card. These methods can help you establish a credit history that will eventually allow you to apply for rewards credit cards.

Stay tuned for a future next section where we'll dive deeper into the best secured credit cards for building your credit score.

Community Corner

I missed the recent 80k Bonus Offer from Chase for Chase Sapphire Reserve. Should I wait for it to come back or just accept the 60k offer?

- Question from a subscriber

Our Answer:

Good question. First, we’d recommend talking to your local Chase branch. While they likely won’t honor the offer now that its over, there’s no harm in going in person and asking a local representative if they can still honor it.

Outside of that: we’d recommend getting the Reserve if you really want a credit card & bonus soon. It might be 6-12 months before an offer comes back from Chase.
